Precious Metal

This post may be unnecessary, but here is the announcement of Pokemon Platinum that was announced on Game Freak's Blog. Fall is a good ways off, but at least it's something to look forward too. I wonder what other legendaries will be made available aside from alternative forms of Giratina.

Aside from a few new forms of legends, are they introducing any new pokes? What do they mean by improve gameplay. And, will d/p be combatible with it. Unless they have made drastic improvements in battling gameplay, or its the next gen, I have no plans on buying it.

I wouldn't really expect it to be much different than emerald was to ruby and sapphire. After all, this is still a 4th gen game. However, diamond and pearl will definitely be compatible with it and I've heard that the underground will work with wifi now.

I'm not really sure how they could improve upon the gameplay though. As long as they add more sidequest and bring back the move tutor, I'd be happy.

Rumor: CoroCoro Comic reveals Pokemon Platinum

It appears from this scan that CoroCoro Comic magazine has revealed the next Pokémon game from Nintendo, called Pocket Monsters Platina (Pokémon Platinum).

We can't read the scan (because it is both tiny and Japanese), but TheTanooki's summary of the article describes it as the next game in the Diamond/Pearl series, with Giratina on the cover. It features an online version of the weird Underground feature from Diamond and Pearl, an Emerald-like "Battle Island," and some new forms for critters like Giratina and Shaymin.

According to TheTanooki, Platinum will be out in September in Japan. All of this is classifiable as "rumor" right now, but that scan looks pretty real.
