A little change...

Just bred me a poliwag with perfect attack, speed, and HP IVs with everything else at least a 20. It's all trained up, and now I need some help. It's utilizing a salac berry, and it's HP is not divisible by 4 at lvl 50. Is it too late to fix that? Will I only be able to use him properly in 100 set battles? I don't want to mess with it further until I get some feedback.

Hey Steve! Way to go! It is always nice when something like that happens and I'll be looking forward to seeing what you do with it.

I didn't even notice the question you asked until later though. So it appears that you're trying to set it up so that you substitute down to activate the salac berry (and/or also belly drum). Here's the rub, if you're trying to make sure it works from a lv 100 standpoint, and based on the +31 for HP, you would need to ev it like this 28/252/0/0/0/228. That would give you a HP of 328. However, that same spread will a HP of 169 at lv 50. If you drop the hp ev's to 24, you'll get a HP that is divisible by 4 at lv 50, but not at level 100, so I guess it just depends on what matters most to you.

One other point though, pokemon always rounds down, so at lv 50 when your HP would be 169 and you used substitute, the sub's HP would be 42. I suspect that what you're trying to do would still work just fine in a lv 50 battle.

Yeah, I edited the post to include the question rather than make a new post. Ok, so that would make it fine for lvl 100, but I'd rather have it available at 50. I've already gotten it to 50, and I didn't realize it didn't work until I play tested it. My question is, is it too late to do anything to fix it?

You could always remove the ev's with the berries (anti-vitamins) and redo it by fighting very weak pokemon. By the way, the berries always remove 10 ev's a piece unless a stat has more than 100 ev's on it. In that case, the first berry lowers the ev's to 100, and then every other berry after that removes 10.

I ran into the same problem with my Linoone. I could get Belly Drum to trigger Salac Berry at level 50, but not 100, and vice versa. It's easy to use the ev down berries to change this, but i didn't want to keep switching back and forth, so I just set it for level 50, since that can be used in both games. If I want to use him I request a lvl 50 battle.

Awesome, problem solved then. Thanks a lot guys. Hopefully I'll be leaving posts, or at least comments, on here more often.
