Finally found some Pokemon TFG figures. Even if you don't think you'd play the game, they all look really good for collecting and displaying. If anyone is looking to play this, hit me up.

Opinions and ideas wanted
Alright, here's is my dilemma. I have a Camerupt with great IV's, a good nature, and the right ability trained up for my gym team, but I'm afraid I may have messed it up. It's current moveset is Roar, Amnesia, Lava Plume, and Earth Power, but I'm thinking I should go back and breed Ancient Power onto it or redo it's EV's and give it Stone Cut so it will have a Rock attack. In all my calculations, I've become rather afraid of it coming up against a Flying type pokemon that is resistant to Fire attacks, since it won't be able to squat to it no matter how good its Sp. ATK stat is. Any suggestions about which course I should take or any other creative ideas?
Mmmmmm, dericious
So after only 4 hours or so of breeding, I got a Baltoy with the following IV's:
HP:28
ATK:26-27
DEF:31
Sp. ATK: 26-27
Sp. DEF :30-31
SPD: 30-31
Needless to say, such good luck makes me VERY happy.

PBR Mystery Gifts
Did everyone pink-up their Magmortar yet? I forgot everyday this week so far.
Pokémon.com today revealed the Mystery Gift code to obtain Magmortar
in Pokémon Battle Revolution. The Electivire code was revealed last
month and is still available. Both Pokémon, once obtained, can be
downloaded to copies of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl.
Magmortar: B416-X4HT-VTWF
Electivire: BA16-X4SH-E2AT
To download the Pokémon:
1. Enter your Profile.
2. Click on Self-Introduction.
3. Enter the code (one at a time) exactly as it appears and click confirm.
4. Go back to the main menu. The Pokémon will be in the Mystery Gift section of the Shop.
Once the code has been entered, the player will also receive an
upgraded Pokétopia Silver Battle Pass which will allow him or her to create a custom pass.

New Faces
I want to welcome the new members to the Blog. Nate and Marion (as well as the pending Rich) are friends of mine who are down with the 'mon.
We've been putting our Friend Codes in our profiles to facilitate wi-fi battles, so just click our names (the full member list is at the bottom of the page) to add people, and feel free to add your own to your profiles.
If you want to join a Gym, just let us know. It can be anything from just picking a Gym to show love for your favorite type, to training a full Gym team to become it's leader.
Finally, feel free to post any questions, comics, news, etc... That's what the Blog is here for.

Tick Tock
Just out of curiousity, how many hours would you all say you put in Pokemon per day/week? I've been trying to get some pokemon bred and trained for my gym, but to be honest I haven't had a lot of time lately between work, moving, and other games. It used to be I could spend a few hours a night trying to be the best there ever was, but now......sigh.

Tower Tychoon...ARGH!!
Ok, I have fought this jerk twice already and lost each time. First time was due to having nothing to hurt Milotic (last Pokemon vs. last Pokemon on my team) and the second time was due to be put to sleep while fighting Dragonair, I believe.
ANy tips? Currently, I'm using Metagross, an untrained Empoleon, and Scizor.

Official E.C.P.L. Rules
Links to Rule Discussion Threads can be found at the bottom of this Post
This is meant to be a constantly updating list of rules for the East Coast Pokemon League. It will be linked from the Gym List, so that it is always easily accessible. This is the first draft based off of our previous conversations. Keep in mind this list applies only to official battles, we welcome and encourage battles using a wide variety of rule sets outside of official matches. Please respond with any suggestions or concerns.
General Rules
Official League battles will adhere to the following rules:
- Lvl. 50 All: Of course, all battles will be level adjusted. To ensure that stat rounding is the same whether using Pokemon Diamond/Pearl wi-fi, or Pokemon Battle Revolution, Lvl. 50 All will be used regardless of other level adjustment options available.
- Double Battles: We feel double battles offer much more complexity and fun than single battles. It also lets Trainers explore moves, abilities and team combinations that may be of little or no use in single battles.
- No Legendary Pokemon: We want to encourage the use of a wide variety of Pokemon, not just the handful with an obvious stat advantage. As a general rule, ask yourself “Could I hatch this Pokemon from an egg using a Ditto?” If the answer is “Yes.”, then the Pokemon passes this restriction.
- No Event Pokemon: Event Pokemon are those recieved as a bonus from another game (such as Surfing Pikachu from Battle Revolution) or from a sponsored download event (such as Toys R’ Us Manaphy). While most Event Pokemon are already covered by the “No Legendary Pokemon” clause, we want to make sure that Trainers who did not want to purchase extraneous games, or were not able to make it to a download events are not at a disadvantage.
- No Repeat Items/Pokemon: Again, to encourage the use of a wide variety of Pokemon, teams may not have more than one of the same Pokemon. Also, it is not allowed for more than one Pokemon on a team to hold the same item.
Gyms
Members: Much like the game, Gyms are for people who would like to specialize in a specific type of Pokemon. Joining a Gym is also your first step towards becoming a Gym Leader. You can leave a Gym and join another Gym, but you cannot be in more than one Gym at the same time. You can be both a Gym Member, and a Challenger (see below), but you cannot challenge yourself for a badge if you are a Gym Leader. Gym Pokemon must currently be of the same type as the Gym you are in, regardless of previous evolution stages. Dual types are allowed, so long as one of the types matches the Gym.
*Exceptions to this rule are the Bug and Dragon Gyms. In acknowledgment of their disadvantages, they are allowed to use any Pokemon from the Bug and Dragon Egg Groups, respectively.
Leaders: Once you have trained six Gym Pokemon, you are eligible to be a Gym Leader. If no leader currently exist for your Gym, you are automatically the Gym Leader. If your Gym already has a Leader, you may challenge them for Leadership rights.
As Leader, you will accept challenges from Challengers, keep track of your wins and losses (maybe even a battle summary), and ensure that Challengers are adhering to the Official Rules. Gym Leaders can choose any six of their Gym Pokemon each time they are challenged. Unlike Challengers, they need not use the same team each battle.
Challengers
For those of you that wanna be the very best, like no one ever was. Challengers will create a Trainer Card, which will keep track of your battle team, badges, and other information. Once registered, you may begin challgenging Gym Leaders for badges. You must use the same team (Pokemon, Moves, Held Items) for all of your Gym challenges. If you decide to change your team, you will need to register the new team and start from scratch.
Elite Four and Champion
Challengers that collect eight Gym Badges are eligible to become part of the Elite Four, or even the Champion (This of course, requires us to have at least eight Gym Leaders). Challengers only need eight Badges, but they are of course welcome and encouraged to try for more. E.C.P.L. will aim to have Gyms for all 15 types.
If there are four or fewer Challengers that meet the Badge requirement, they are automatically members of the Elite Four. Once there are more than four Challengers that meet this requirement, we will have a tournament to determine the Champion, and which remaining challengers are in the Elite Four.
...yes, this is intended to be much more difficult than the in-game leagues.

Hey, I'm Breakin' This First....
Fellow gamers, the code for Magmortar was just released and although the code is posted on serebii.net, I just wanted to point out that the game to get the code can be found on www.pokemon-games.com.
How are the gyms coming?
So I'll admit I'm still sort of far off from completing all the guys for my gym, but I was thinking it would be nice to have some sort of deadline where we all meet up and battle our gym league pokemon. Obviously not too soon, but maybe by the end of the year. Maybe even make it a little party/event thing. Thoughts anyone?

It's worth a read if you haven't come across it already.

A Little Conjecture
As you all are into pokemon as much if not more than I am, I'm sure you've had moments where you were frustrated that certain moves are not available as TMs or egg moves. So my question for the day is what moves would you like to see become available as TMs or egg moves in future versions of pokemon??? Personally, I think it is criminal that the move earth power can't be passed on. There are so many special move users that would become incredible with access to that move. Of course that's in my opinion... So please don't hold back the comments....
Dragon Quest Monsters digs at Pokemon
Sounds like Square Enix's Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker is looking to knock Pokemon down a notch a or two. The new trailer ends with the tagline "Losers catch 'em all, Winners catch the best!"
I'd be more mad if the game didn't look so neat.

Pokemon TFG
I've been keeping an eye on this and apparently the first wave has been released. I plan on getting a bunch, but I haven't seen any in stores. Anyone come across a place that has them?

Wifi Codes
Hey Everyone,
I just wanted to let you know that I added friend codes for all of the wifi games I own on my profile. At some point we'll have to get together to battle, but if that's not possible I'll just wait for the first Wednesday of November or whatever day was chosen for that.

Serebii posted some early pics of the upcoming Wii Ware game.

P.S. Finally figured out which RSS Feed I wanted to use. Bulbanews (from Bulbapedia) is now up. Let me know if anyone has any other RSS feeds they like.

Insane IV Inquiry....I
So...and what was probably a first for me, I tried breeding multiples of one Pokemon and checking the IVs for a true champ. However, I noticed that about 70% of my offspring (15 or so) had the exact same IVs. Does the parents have anything to do with the generation of these values?

Rules and Such
What types of rules would we like to establish for battling? I figure there are some basic rules we can agree on (i.e. no hacked Pokemon, no repeated Pokemon, no repeated items, etc.) but what else should we include? Also, would anyone be interested in drafting a formal list once we finalize the rules?

Gym Leaders
So which gyms would people officially like to lead? I think Chris is doing Dragon and Matt is doing Normal, but other than that I have no idea what everyone else is doing. Also have there been particular rules established as to what can and can't be done? (i.e. The Bug guy in the Sinnoh E4 has a Drapion which is Dark/Poison but evolves from a Bug type. Would something like be acceptable?)
Pokemon Team Process
Well, I've just finished EV training my second Pokemon and thought that it would be cool to discuss and see how far along everyone's teams have come.
Also, I'd like to sneak in the question of:
Has anyone checked out that GameFAQs FAQ on TM acquisition? I saw them mention that Explosion is a one-time only TM but I THOUGHT you could acquire it via Emerald's Battle Frontier, as a pickup item, or some other way. Thoughts?

Use Comments
On the topic of keeping the blog from becoming a mess, I'd like to advocate the use of comments, thus keeping each post as its own thread as opposed to making a new post to reply to old posts. This will also let us link to certain post as well as all related feedback all at once. Just my 2 cents...

DS Night Starting November
So just one more reminder that DS Night will begin monthly starting on Wednesday (first date TBA) in November at the Sidebar Taven (www.sidebartavern.com) hosted by Entertainment System (www.myspace.com/entertainmentsystem). Matt and I will be bringing a TV with Battle Revolution so that we can have level adjusting for the Pokemon tourney. I'll be picking up a prize or two (don't expect anything very extravagant). I'll have a full rule list for the tournament soon but for now the two things in stone are no-legendaries and double battles only. See you in the funny pages!
